MOGA/OLGA "Battle of the Sexes" Results |

On 21 April 2011, 42 gals and 42 guys competed in the Battle aka, Gender Fender Bender...the women had won last year, but this year the men prevailed 215.5 to 162.5 in a 18 point (1 point per hole) match play tourney. Leading scores for the guys were Harry Pritchard and Bill Schauerman with 13.5 points and John Triplett and Bill Bishop scored 13 points. Eleanor Hinerichsen and Glo Malmberg scored 11.5 points to lead the gals. The Lakes nine was a two person scramble and the Palms was a better net ball contest. The ladies captured both the long putt holes with Barb Collier winning Lakes #7 and Shirley Weaver Palms #3. Closest to the pin second shots were won by two guys, Dave Thomas on Lakes #8 and Bob Clark on Palms #6. The par three KP's were won by Eleanor Hinerichsen on Lakes #2, Dale Schmitz on Lakes #6, Dolly Eide Palms #4, and Sharon Bowditch on Palms #7. Next year is OLGA's turn to host, unless the Pro Shop staff can be talked into running the event, and that would be a great idea! Doc Eide and Fred Kent, MOGA |
